Doug was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire and was educated at Hanson Grammar School. He joined the Home Civil Services and spent twelve years with the Inland Revenue as a senior Inspector of Taxes. His work in the Revenue covered all aspects of personal tax including compliance work and in depth investigations both corporate and personal.
On leaving the Revenue Doug spent three years in Ernst & Young's Private Client Tax Department in London. At E.Y., he dealt with all aspects of complex individuals affairs including both Lloyds Underwriters and overseas clients.
Doug joined Rabjohns in 1992 as the head of the Private Client department. He was made a partner in 1995 and obtained the Financial Planning Certificate qualification in 2001. He is Client Director on a cross section of corporate and personal clients.
