At a difficult time financially for many organizations, charities have been hit particularly hard. Whilst there were no specific measures for charities, the following are likely to have a significant impact:
- Increase in VAT rate to 20%
- Major public sector spending cuts
- Consultation on Gift Aid
- Withdrawal of Lennartz method of recovering VAT
- Substantial donor consultation
- Changes to allowances and benefits
