Rabjohns passes new Academy’s examination

One of the Government’s flagship Academy schools – the first in Worcestershire, has appointed Midlands-based accountancy and tax firm Rabjohns LLP as its auditor.

Rabjohns won the tender to act as auditors for the Tudor Grange Academy Worcester, which opened in September.

Worcester-based Rabjohns beat off competition from a range of other firms to secure the account, with work due to begin in October 2010.

Tudor Grange Academy replaced Worcester's Elgar Technology College and was the second quickest academy school to be set up in the country, following sponsorship from Tudor Grange School in Solihull.

Andy Wood, a director at Rabjohns explained: "Rabjohns has extensive experience in advising and auditing independent schools and charities, though this is the first academy for which we have acted.

"We are excited to be working with Tudor Grange at such an important stage in its development, admiring the support given by its adopted sister school in Solihull and the positive steps already taken to make this new academy successful."

Paul Day, financial director of Tudor Grange Worcester Academy Trust, said: "We are very pleased to be working with Rabjohns, and look forward to a long and successful association."

The win is another jewel in the crown for Rabjohns, which recently added Malvern Theatres to its portfolio of top Worcestershire names including; Worcester Warriors rugby, Worcestershire County Cricket Club, Morgan Motor Company and Eastnor Castle.
