Rabjohns on the Road - Destination Sydney
Two of the partners from Worcester based accountants Rabjohns LLP will be flying the flag for the West Midlands and the Worcestershire Ambassadors when they attend the World Conference of Kreston International in Sydney later this month.
Kreston is an international association of independent accounting firms which has representatives in 95 countries and turns over $1.7 billion making it one of the top fifteen or so accounting organisations in the world.
"The conference will have delegates from countries as diverse as Brazil, Vietnam, India, and Oman as well as China, The US and all the major Europeans nations" explained Doug Robshaw. "Kreston has been a hugely important part of our strategy since we joined in 2003," said Robshaw. "It gives us the ability to introduce clients to people who we have met, know well and trust in overseas territories in which they trade - but we are also the Kreston representative for the West Midlands and handle work for foreign clients in the area. I'm pleased to say some of their geographic knowledge of the UK is not that hot as they seem to think the West Midlands stretches from Banbury to Yorkshire! We haven't corrected anyone."
As well as the main Conference event in Sydney, Doug, together with Ian Smith, will be making a number of other visits to Kreston Colleagues and a client during the trip. They are meeting in Hong Kong with the firm that reports to Rabjohns on the Harris Brush Group audit; spending a few days in Melbourne with one of the most successful Kreston firms to benchmark business practices and then meeting an ex pat. client for whom Rabjohns provides specialist tax advice in Singapore on the return journey.
Ian will also be picking up with a number of ex Worcestershire school friends in Hong Kong, Sydney and Singapore. Ian is a past President of the Old Vigornians and a Trustee of the King's Worcester Development Trust, and his visit will follow up reunions recently held in Hong Kong and Australia.
Whilst on the road Ian Smith will be keeping clients and colleagues up to date via Rabjohns' own Twitter feed, below.
