| Choosing a new adviser is not easy and not something that you should rush into. We respect the loyalty that many of our clients showed their former advisers before moving to us (in fact it is a quality we look for in prospective clients). Research has shown that the relationship business owners have with their accountant is a stronger one than with any other adviser, so it is bound to be a difficult decision to move.
We hope that this page, together with the pages listed on the left, will help you answer the question “are we right for you?”. You will also find out something about the process that we go through with new clients.
If you see the need to engage a firm of advisers as a waste of time and money that you would avoid if at all possible; or if you avoid contact with your advisers if you can and your sole criteria for selecting a new firm will be based on the cheapest quote – you will not be surprised to learn that we are probably not the firm for you. û
If you are someone who runs their business by bending and breaking the rules, by ignoring good business practice and ethics and thinks life is too short for good business manners, then we will not be the firm for you. û
If you want a firm that shies away from making tough calls and telling you as it really is, even if that is not what you might want to hear, then we might not be the firm for you. û
If you have grown to a level at which you think your current advisers need outside assistance, or you think the business issues you face are simply outside their level of experience, then we might be right for you. It may be that you want to grow to reach such a position, but you are not getting the support and advice to help you achieve that aim. ü
If you have a specific requirement for some specialist advice, perhaps tax planning for a major sale, or Corporate Finance planning for a Buy Out, then we might be right for you. ü
If you are starting up your business and you are passionate about being the best in your field, then we might be the firm for you. ü
If you want help in developing and growing your business and so far have just received a set of historical accounts from last year, then we might be the firm for you. ü
If you currently use one of the Top Twenty firms, and feel you deserve a bit more attention than a small fish in a big pond receives, then we might be the firm for you. ü
If you want advisers that enthuse about your business with you and look for ways to help you achieve your goals and ambitions, then we might be the firm for you. ü
Why only “we might be the firm for you”?
We only say we might be the firm for you, because neither of us will know until we have met whether the chemistry and interest is there for a valuable relationship to be built. We want to do business with people we like and get on with – we expect you are the same. You need to see whether the words on a website match up in the flesh. You will see how we go about this in the “ The process?” page.
